Make A Difference
Edgewood Vista understands dementia and other types of memory loss. We are dedicated to providing memory care services that positively impact cognitive functioning and improve quality of life.
Attention to Detail
Residents live as independently as possible within a safe and comfortable environment that truly becomes home. Residents receive love, support and encouragement. Because Alzheimer's and dementia are diseases of memory loss, the physical design of living space is integral to a balanced life. Your loved one will live comfortably in a home-like environment. Meals and activities are shared within the kitchen and living room of Memory Care. This smaller, more intimate space helps decrease anxiety, confusion and depression. Room colors are selected for their soothing effects, and ‘memory cue cases’ next to residents’ rooms are decorated with personal memorabilia.
Stimulating Group Exercises & Activities
Residents have access to other areas of Edgewood Vista with supervision. Residents can participate in organized therapeutic recreation and activities. Daily exercise in groups, games, occasional outings, music, and other pleasurable activities are planned, with staff supervision. They can also enjoy the walking paths and outdoor gardens in a safe and secure environment. In addition, we tailor one-on-one activities to meet individual needs.
A Carefully Designed Environment
Our environment helps your loved one participate in their own lives and provides opportunities to succeed in areas that use long-term memory skills. As people with Alzheimer's and dementia lose the ability to learn new things, we help reaffirm their independence which contributes to improved self esteem. Assisting with meal preparation, clean up after meals, and folding laundry are just a few examples of daily living tasks that provide familiarity from their past.
Caring and Experienced Staff
Each individual with Alzheimer's Disease and dementia is affected differently. Our staff members, who have advanced education in Alzheimer's Disease and dementia, understand the problems associated with changes that result from this illness, and treat your loved ones with the dignity and respect they deserve. A high staff ratio ensures individualized care, and families are encouraged to be part of the team. Edgewood's primary objective is to continually help residents maintain daily living skills and support positive experiences that contribute to dignity and quality of life.
